Quintana Roo Lawmaker Praises Cozumel Welfare Caravan Rollout

Deputy Renán Sánchez Tajonar, president of the Junta de Gobierno y Coordinación Política in Quintana Roo, highlighted the arrival of the "Caravanas del Bienestar" to Cozumel. The mobile service units, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama, bring a range of civil‑service assistance directly to neighbourhoods, including a mobile birth‑registration kiosk, issuance of birth certificates, distribution of wheelchairs, walkers and canes, and the Conecta Quintana Roo program that provides SIM cards to improve family connectivity. Sánchez emphasized that the caravans save residents time and money and align with the governor’s "Nuevo Acuerdo por el Bienestar y el Desarrollo," echoing President Claudia Sheinbaum’s national poverty‑reduction agenda. He urged Cozumel citizens to attend with official identification, an updated CURP and proof of address to expedite their procedures.
