Quintana Roo mobility institute partners with Chetumal university to boost student transport
The Institute of Mobility of the State of Quintana Roo (IMOVEQROO) and the Universidad Tecnológica de Chetumal (UTCH) signed a General Collaboration Agreement to improve connectivity for university students. The pact, announced by IMOVEQROO director Rafael Hernández Kotasek, includes installing a MOBI service module on campus so students can obtain preferential transport cards and access the public‑transport system. It also creates opportunities for student social‑service programs and provides space for IMOVEQROO’s public‑transport units at the university, supporting the system’s charging infrastructure near the Polo de Desarrollo para el Bienestar.
The agreement is part of Governor Mara Lezama’s “Nuevo Acuerdo por el Bienestar y Desarrollo de Quintana Roo,” aiming to offer safer, more efficient, and affordable mobility options for the Chetumal student community.
