Quintana Roo Port Authority Forms Operations Committee for Mahahual Fishermen’s Wharf

On August 6, 2026, the Quintana Roo Integral Port Administration (APIQROO) installed the first Operations Committee for the Mahahual and La Aguada Fishermen’s Wharf. The committee includes representatives from the Mahahual, Xcalak and Chetumal port captaincies, the Othón P. Blanco municipal council, the Eleventh Naval Zone, rural police, local operators, fishermen and tourism service providers.

The body is tasked with coordinating administration, security and operational matters at the port, improving organization, strengthening maritime security through video‑surveillance systems and continuous monitoring, and overseeing ongoing rehabilitation and maintenance of the dock facilities.
