Quintana Roo producers acquire agricultural machinery via 50-50 scheme
Seventy-three producers in Quintana Roo have acquired new agricultural machinery through a 50-50 co-financing scheme with the state government. Under this program, the state government covered half of the costs for equipment including tractors, seeders, and drones, while the producers contributed the remaining 50%.
The equipment was distributed to agricultural workers across five municipalities: Othón P. Blanco, José María Morelos, Bacalar, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and Lázaro Cárdenas. According to the Secretariat of Agricultural, Rural and Fisheries Development (SEDARPE), 14 of the 73 beneficiaries are women.
The initiative, delivered via SEDARPE in Chetumal, aims to reduce operational costs, streamline labor, and increase the productivity of agricultural units.
