Quinte West launches physician recruitment program
The City of Quinte West has launched a new medical professional recruitment program called the Primary Care Partnership. Led by Physician Recruitment and Engagement Specialist Jessica Smylie, the initiative aims to expand healthcare infrastructure and provide competitive incentives to attract and retain medical staff.
The program offers several financial incentives for five-year full-time service agreements, including $175,000 for primary care physicians, $15,000 for nurse practitioners, and two separate $75,000 incentives for physicians serving in the Trenton Memorial Emergency Room and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Medical Inpatient Unit.
As part of the announcement, the city confirmed the signing of two new family physicians. Dr. Bailey Brant, a University of Toronto graduate, and Dr. Siddarth Varatharajan, a medical candidate from the University of Queensland, have joined the program to establish practices in the community.
