Quito administrative services face technical disruptions

Users in Quito are facing disruptions to various municipal and national administrative services due to technical issues and system updates.

As of October 12, 2026, the Quito Property Registry has transitioned to a new authentication system. Users must now use credentials from the Municipal Services Portal to access digital procedures, such as requesting property certificates or registering contracts. Previous standalone passwords for the registry are no longer functional, though existing municipal account holders do not need to re-register.

Additionally, the registration of new vehicles is suspended for Wednesday, October 14, 2026. This suspension is due to technical failures and intermittency within the Integrated Transit Single System (SUIT), managed by the National Transit Agency (ANT). The outage prevents the validation of documentation and the processing of new vehicle registrations, directly impacting car dealerships and the formal delivery of new automobiles.
