Quito's Mariscal Sucre Airport reschedules flights for runway maintenance

Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito temporarily suspended runway operations on Saturday, September 5, from 02:00 to 14:00 to conduct scheduled preventive maintenance. The closure resulted in the rescheduling of 31 flights, including 13 arrivals and 18 departures, affecting both domestic and international routes.

While flight operations were paused, the passenger terminal remained open. Airlines such as Avianca, Copa Airlines, and Aeroméxico adjusted their schedules accordingly. Authorities noted that Saturdays were selected for these works due to lower regular air traffic volumes.

Further runway maintenance sessions are scheduled for September 12, September 26, and October 3, as well as October 17. Passengers are advised to verify flight statuses directly with their respective airlines.
