Quảng Ninh Secretary demands 10% growth target accountability

During a National Assembly discussion on socio-economic conditions on October 18, Quản Minh Cường, Secretary of the Quảng Ninh Provincial Party Committee, expressed a strong commitment to maintaining high economic growth. He stated that Quảng Ninh must not fall below a 10% growth rate, suggesting that if such a target is not met, both the Provincial Secretary and the Chairperson should be dismissed from their positions.

Mr. Cường noted that while supporting the national 10% growth goal, it should not be applied uniformly to all provinces due to differing regional conditions. He cited Cao Bằng province as an example where a 10% target would be difficult to achieve because of its essential responsibilities in forest and water conservation, cultural preservation, and border protection.

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà addressed the session, highlighting the government's efforts to stabilize the economy through tax exemptions and fee extensions, particularly regarding fuel price fluctuations. She reported that institutional breakthroughs and administrative reforms have reduced compliance costs and implementation times by 53%, though she noted ongoing challenges such as inflation pressure and difficulties in the real estate and labor markets.
