Quảng Trị seeks funding to complete stalled Ba Đồn wastewater project

Authorities in Quảng Trị are seeking funding to complete the Ba Đồn urban drainage and environmental sanitation project. The project, which began in 2016, has faced significant delays and has been largely abandoned since 2021.

The total adjusted investment for the project is 14.9 million euros, approximately 400 billion VND. While approximately 69% of the work has been completed and over 10.17 million euros have been paid, the system remains non-functional due to incomplete technical components and an unfinished collection network.

Key missing elements include secondary sedimentation tanks, oxidation ditches, technological equipment, and power systems. Additionally, many household connections and pipeline sections remain uninstalled, preventing the wastewater treatment plant from operating at its intended capacity of 3,000 m³ per day.
