Quàng Văn Tân arrested for transnational fraud in Vietnam and Laos

Son La Provincial Police have arrested Quàng Văn Tân, the 26-year-old director of Tan Phat Agricultural Products Import-Export Co., Ltd., for fraudulent appropriation of assets. Authorities have initiated a criminal case involving transnational fraud affecting both Vietnamese and Laotian citizens.

Investigators found that the company, based in Son La, had no actual business operations or cross-border agricultural trade since its inception. Tân allegedly used the business as a front to project the image of a “successful entrepreneur” to defraud victims of billions of dong to fund his lifestyle and pay off debts.

His methods included deceiving Laotian nationals by promising to purchase cheap pickup trucks in Vietnam and transport them to Laos upon receiving advance payments. He also defrauded Vietnamese citizens by soliciting capital for purported agricultural investments in Laos.
