Quorum Cyber to acquire Ontinue for AI-driven security
Quorum Cyber has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ontinue, a managed extended detection and response (MXDR) provider. The transaction aims to create a unified, Microsoft-focused cybersecurity platform that integrates threat intelligence, incident response, and professional services with Ontinue’s Agentic Security Operations Center (SOC) platform.
The merger focuses on the transition from traditional AI tools to agentic AI systems. These systems are designed to continuously investigate threats, reason through security contexts, and take actions at machine speed within predefined human-defined guardrails. By combining these capabilities, the companies intend to create an integrated operating model where Microsoft security technologies work alongside AI agents and human defenders to reduce the operational burden on security teams.
While the financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, the combined entity plans to offer a broader suite of services, including secure AI adoption, proactive risk reduction, and continuous threat detection and recovery.
