Quranic scholar Mohammad Ali Ansari discusses the impact of gratitude on faith

Mohammad Ali Ansari, a Quranic commentator and author of the Mishkat interpretation, has addressed the relationship between human gratitude and spiritual stability. Speaking in Khorasan Razavi, Ansari noted that a lack of heartfelt gratitude can lead to instability and the weakening of faith when individuals face either blessings or hardships.

Ansari categorized worldly assets into four main pillars: wealth, power, knowledge, and beauty. He described these as double-edged swords. For instance, he stated that wealth can facilitate righteousness if held by a pious person, but can lead to transgression if hoarded. Similarly, power can serve as a shadow of divine mercy if used for justice, or lead to tyranny if used unjustly. He concluded that the way humans respond to these divine gifts determines their spiritual proximity to the Divine.
