Žďár nad Sázavou library named Regiostars finalist

The Matěj Josef Sychra Library in Žďár nad Sázavou has been named a finalist in the prestigious Regiostars competition, placing among the top 25 projects in the European Union out of 273 entries.

The project, titled ‘Together in Žďár’, follows a complete reconstruction and modernization of the facility completed in 2024. Supported by nearly 1.2 million euros in European funds, the library has transitioned into a modern cultural, educational, and community center.

Director Martina Sedláková noted that the facility serves as a hub for various demographics, including children, seniors, and non-profit organizations. In the previous year, the library hosted over 900 events with approximately 16,000 attendees and recorded nearly 200,000 book loans.
