R Praggnanandhaa draws with Wesley So in Sinquefield Cup

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa is maintaining a strong position in the Sinquefield Cup, a part of the Grand Chess Tour, following a series of competitive performances in St. Louis.

In the fifth round, Praggnanandhaa secured a draw playing with the black pieces against tournament leader Wesley So. This result keeps him in joint second place with 3 points from five games. The draw was agreed upon after 26 moves during a king pawn opening.

Earlier in the tournament, Praggnanandhaa demonstrated resilience by defeating Jorden Van Foreest in the fourth round to climb to 2.5 points. Currently, Wesley So leads the 10-player event with 3.5 points, holding a half-point advantage over Praggnanandhaa, Vincent Keymer, Fabiano Caruana, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
