Raaka film sets Guinness World Record for simultaneous motion capture

The upcoming science fiction film ‘Raaka’, starring Allu Arjun and directed by Atlee, has set a Guinness World Record for the “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time”. The achievement involved capturing 37 performers simultaneously in a single session, surpassing the previous record of 19.

The performers involved in the record-breaking session ranged in age from four to 70 years old. To achieve this, the production team utilized a complex technical setup featuring 92 optical motion-capture cameras, real-time visualization via Unreal Engine, and a specialized VFX pipeline to ensure the accuracy of each individual's movement within a single capture volume.

Produced by Sun Pictures, the film also features Deepika Padukone in a leading role. The announcement of the record coincided with director Atlee’s 40th birthday. While the technical feat has been celebrated as a milestone for Indian cinema, some fan discussions have noted a desire for more localized Telugu-centric promotion for the star-driven project.
