Raalte municipality announces housing registration and budget updates

To address national regulations concerning electricity distribution, the municipality is calling on developers with concrete housing and educational construction plans for the next 10 years to register by September 2. This registration allows projects to be placed on a waiting list with the grid operator, Enexis, to ensure future power connection availability.

Financially, Raalte’s mid-year review for 2026 indicates that budget execution is largely on track, though the municipality anticipates deficits through 2029, with a surplus expected to return in 2030. Recent policy developments include the adoption of an Integrated Housing Plan for Education (2026-2040), new regional agreements regarding youth care and domestic violence prevention, and a comprehensive sports and movement policy. Additionally, the municipality has designated a preferred location for future housing in Luttenberg and prepared a heat program aimed at achieving a gas-free municipality by 2050.
