Raalte reports 4.1 million euro surplus amid financial discrepancies

The municipality of Raalte concluded 2025 with a positive result of 4.1 million euros. However, the annual accounts have drawn scrutiny due to significant financial discrepancies.

An accountant identified 2.4 million euros in errors and uncertainties, alongside 1.1 million euros in budgetary irregularities. These issues occurred during a transition to a new financial system, which reportedly contributed to increased workloads. Despite these findings, the accountant intends to issue an approving statement, noting that solvency and debt ratios remain within national standards.
