Rab hosts 10th Mares Underwater Photo Marathon Cup

The tenth anniversary of the Mares Underwater Photo Marathon Cup was held on the island of Rab from September 11 to 13. The event is recognized as one of the most prominent international underwater photography competitions in this part of Europe.

Organized by the diving club ‘Roniti se mora’ in partnership with the Tourist Board of the City of Rab, the competition attracted more than 50 participants from 10 different countries, including Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Serbia, Denmark, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, and Hungary.

Ivana Matušan, Director of the Rab Tourist Board, noted that the event showcases the island’s authentic nature and unique marine space, providing a perspective of Rab that most visitors do not typically see. The competition aims to promote the Adriatic Sea, diving, and underwater nature while connecting diverse cultures through photography.
