Rabat Jazz Festival concludes 28th edition in Morocco

The 28th edition of the Rabat Jazz Festival has concluded in Morocco, featuring a diverse program that blended contemporary European jazz with traditional Moroccan musical heritage. Organized by the European Union in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the event hosted six European bands and six Moroccan musical projects.

The festival served as a platform for cultural dialogue, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the partnership agreement between Morocco and the European Union. Participants highlighted the importance of the Mediterranean Charter in promoting cultural cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

Key performances included the Tamazight project, which merged Moroccan identity with contemporary jazz, and various collaborations involving artists such as Younes Fakhar and Ulrich Drexler. The event aimed to foster discovery and exchange between Moroccan artists and their international counterparts while showcasing new musical talents to the local audience.
