Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations begin across Pakistan and India
The Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal has commenced, marking the period leading up to Eid Milad-un-Nabi, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad. In Pakistan, the observance is scheduled for August 26, 2026, according to the lunar calendar. The month is characterized by religious gatherings, prayers, the recitation of Naats, and the illumination of homes and mosques to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of peace and compassion.
In Mysuru, India, Baara-Roz-Ijlaas celebrations are scheduled to take place from August 14 to 26 at various Masjids. These celebrations include special lectures held daily following the Fajr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers at numerous locations across the city, including Madeena Masjid, Masjid-e-Azam, and Jamiya Masjid.
