Rabid dog bites eight people in Quang Ngai Province

A dog confirmed to be infected with the rabies virus bit eight people in Dong Son Commune, Quang Ngai Province, on September 15. The incident occurred across several villages, including Chau Thuan Tay, Chau Thuan Bien, Phu Quy, and Dinh Tan.

Of the eight individuals bitten, five have sought medical attention and begun vaccination protocols. Three others reported being bitten but did not seek immediate vaccination because they did not sustain visible scratches. The dog involved was killed by local residents following the attacks.

Local authorities and health officials are monitoring those at risk of exposure. Medical staff are tasked with ensuring the five individuals who started treatment adhere to their full five-dose vaccine schedule and are instructed to seek immediate medical care if they exhibit any abnormal symptoms.
