Rabies confirmed in bats in Georgia and Texas

In San Angelo, Texas, a bat was confirmed to have rabies after a dog in the Bentwood Country Club & Estates neighborhood came into contact with a deceased bat. The City of San Angelo reported that medical and safety protocols were followed for those affected. Health officials remind the public to avoid contact with bats and to seek immediate medical attention for any bites or scratches from wild animals.
