Rabla Auto Program motorcycle funds exhausted in four minutes

The 2026 Rabla Auto Program in Romania has seen an immediate surge in demand, with the budget allocated for motorcycles being exhausted within the first four minutes of the new registration session. Minister of Environment Diana Buzoianu reported that over 1,000 applications were submitted within approximately five minutes for all three program categories.

The available funds for the session included approximately 70.3 million lei for new internal combustion and hybrid vehicles, 20.4 million lei for plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles, or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and 2.9 million lei specifically for motorcycles and electric motorcycles. While the motorcycle funds were depleted instantly, a small portion of the budget remains available for conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.

Looking ahead, Minister Buzoianu announced plans to discuss a policy change with the European Commission to favor vehicles manufactured or assembled in Europe starting in 2027. She noted that such a measure would aim to support European production while maintaining a sufficient variety of eligible models for Romanian consumers.
