Rabobank updates payment terms and conducts labor negotiations

Rabobank is implementing several operational and structural changes. On November 1, 2026, the bank will introduce new general terms and conditions for private payment accounts. A primary change is the rebranding of iDEAL to Wero, reflecting the transition to a European payment method involving banks from Germany, France, and Belgium. While the name changes, the bank states that the actual method of payment will remain largely similar for customers.

Separately, labor negotiations between Rabobank and trade unions, including De Unie, are ongoing. Discussions have focused on social plans and training and development. The unions are addressing concerns regarding a potential outsourcing project, referred to as Project Paris, which affects employees within the mortgage chain. Employees have expressed concerns regarding job uncertainty, high workloads, and the ability to pursue professional development amidst these changes.
