Racó de Natora residents demand action over illegal occupations and thefts

Residents of the Racó de Natora neighbourhood in Castellón have raised alarms about a surge in insecurity. They attribute the rise in thefts and other criminal activity to illegal occupations of ex‑propriated public housing that is earmarked for the upcoming Ronda Oeste (Phase 1) development, arguing that the lack of municipal oversight has turned the area into a hotspot for organized groups.

The community says they have repeatedly alerted local authorities and documented incidents, yet no effective measures have been taken. They cite a specific occupation on 19 June at Vía Natora 16, which involved minors, and criticize the failure of existing protocols to prevent such breaches. The residents are calling on the mayor and the municipal security councilor to deploy resources and restore safety in the neighbourhood.
