RACAL honors artist Gustavo Torner with special magazine edition

The Real Academia Conquense de Artes y Letras (RACAL) will host a presentation for a special monographic edition of its magazine, ‘Académica’, dedicated to the artist Gustavo Torner. The volume, titled ‘Oímos su voz’, was coordinated by art critic Alfonso de la Torre and features sixteen contributions including interviews, testimonies, and conceptual reflections on Torner’s career.

Torner, a key figure of the ‘Escuela de Cuenca’ alongside Fernando Zóbel and Gerardo Rueda, was a painter, sculptor, and engraver whose work contributed to the international prominence of Cuenca in abstract art. The publication aims to preserve his intellectual heritage and provide new insights into his multidisciplinary aesthetic following his death in 2025.
