Raíces que perduran wins Entre Ríos Youth Senate competition
Students from Escuela N.º 2 General Manuel Belgrano in Herrera have won the departmental stage of the Entre Ríos Youth Senate held in Concepción del Uruguay. Their winning project, titled “Raíces que perduran” (Roots that Endure), aims to preserve and revalue the cultural traditions, history, music, and cooperative knowledge of the Entre Ríos province.
The initiative seeks to strengthen provincial identity against the cultural homogenization caused by globalization. Participants argued that preserving collective memory and fostering intergenerational exchange are essential to maintaining local customs and intellectual sovereignty in a globally connected society.
Other participating schools presented proposals addressing various social and educational issues, including mental health, the strengthening of educational orientation teams, the protection of historical and railway heritage, and adolescent rights.
