Rachel Conway starts NHS doctor role after Commonwealth Games netball
Rachel Conway, a 25‑year‑old Edinburgh netball star, represented Team Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, adding to her 37 senior caps, a World Cup appearance and two previous Commonwealth Games.
After graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2025 and spending a year in Australia preparing for the Games, Conway began her Foundation Year 1 training with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, starting with a cardiology placement. Inspired by her mother, also a doctor, she said she loves “connecting with people and making a difference.”
Conway will continue her netball career, targeting World Cup qualifiers later this year and the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, while also pursuing her medical profession in Scotland’s NHS.
