Rachel Reid celebrates ‘Heated Rivalry’ with massive Fenway Park event
Author Rachel Reid recently headlined a massive theme night at Fenway Park, drawing 12,000 fans to celebrate her bestselling queer hockey romance series, ‘Heated Rivalry’. The event, which featured themed food, drinks, and exclusive merchandise, marked the Boston Red Sox's largest theme-night promotion to date. During the appearance, Reid teased upcoming short stories that will explore off-page moments and characters from her literary universe.
In a separate development, an unauthorized musical parody soundtrack based on the series has been released on streaming platforms. While the original television adaptation, produced for Crave and HBO, is noted for its heartfelt themes regarding queer identity in professional hockey, the parody musical focuses heavily on innuendo and sexual humor, reducing the central characters, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, to simplified comedic tropes.
