Rachmat Pambudy Highlights Lamongan’s Agriculture‑Industry Integration and Port Upgrade
Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy said the integration of agriculture and industry is a key driver for Lamongan Regency’s economic growth. He noted that agriculture accounts for about 30% of the region’s GDP and industry processing about 12%, and that the area has 7,419 ha earmarked for industrial use, with roughly 6,128 ha still available for new investment. The minister praised the Lamongan Integrated Shorebase (LIS) and urged faster development of supporting infrastructure, including widening the Daendels road, accelerating the Gresik‑Tuban toll road, and improving water supply for industry.
During a site visit to Paciran Port, Pambudy said the facility has strong potential to become an international‑standard port, comparable to Hamburg, citing its 13‑metre channel depth and breakwater. He emphasized that further infrastructure upgrades—such as additional access roads and possibly an elevated toll road—are essential to realize this potential. The minister will take the findings back to Jakarta for further action.
