Rachoula authorities to conduct insecticide spraying after West Nile virus detection

Authorities in the Thessaly Region, in coordination with the Municipality of Larissa, have announced scheduled insecticide spraying in the settlement of Rachoula following the detection of a West Nile virus case.

The spraying operation is set to take place on Wednesday, September 9, starting at 22:00. Officials will use a specialized ULV solution approved by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The process is expected to last between one and one and a half hours.

Residents are advised to avoid the area from 10:00 PM on Wednesday until midnight. This restriction also applies to pets, livestock, and bees. Local authorities emphasized that public cooperation is essential, as the presence of people or animals during the procedure may force the team to halt the operation, reducing its effectiveness.
