Racing Bulls drivers collide at Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad were involved in a collision during a Safety Car restart at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The incident occurred at Turn 1, where Lindblad made contact with the side of Lawson’s car, causing Lawson to spin and suffer significant damage to his vehicle's floor.

Following the collision, Lawson finished in 12th place, while Lindblad managed to secure a seventh-place finish, earning six points for the team. Despite an investigation by the FIA, the stewards decided not to penalize Lindblad, citing the restricted space available to him and a chain reaction caused by a separate incident involving Franco Colapinto further ahead.

Lawson expressed frustration with the decision, stating, “I don’t understand it, because I got hit so hard that it put a hole in my floor.” Lindblad publicly apologized to his teammate, describing the moment as an “absolute mess.” While the collision cost the team a potential double-points finish, the six points earned help Racing Bulls maintain their position in the Constructors' Championship.
