Racing Club appoints interim managers and seeks 2027 head coach

Racing Club has appointed Sebastián “Chirola” Romero and Luciano Aued as interim managers to finish the Clausura tournament following the departure of Juan Pablo Vojvoda. The interim duo will oversee the final six matches of the tournament, including matches against Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, Belgrano, Independiente, River, Aldosivi, and Barracas Central.

As the club prepares for a new cycle starting in 2027, the board, led by president Diego Milito, is evaluating candidates for the permanent head coaching position. Primary candidates include Nicolás Diez, who is currently under contract with Argentinos Juniors, and Guillermo Barros Schelotto, whose tenure with Vélez Sarsfield concludes at the end of the year. Other potential candidates, such as Eduardo Coudet, Luis Zubeldía, and Sebastián Beccacece, have reportedly declined interest in returning to Argentine football.
