Racing Club de Strasbourg players receive 19 international call-ups

Racing Club de Strasbourg is seeing a significant number of its players called up for international duty, with 19 players selected for various national teams. Among the notable call-ups is captain Ismaël Doukouré, who has opted to represent Côte d'Ivoire.

Despite being initially called up by coach Hervé Renard to replace Odilon Kossounou for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ghana and Somalia, Doukouré will not join the squad for this break. Reports indicate the player remained in France, with Junior Diaz being called up as a replacement instead.

Doukouré, a versatile defender who previously played for French youth national teams, has been working on his Ivorian nationality for over a year. While he has expressed a commitment to the Elephants, he reportedly felt it was premature to join the squad without having played in the qualifying matches.
