Racing Club de Strasbourg signs defender Karim Coulibaly

Racing Club de Strasbourg has officially signed 19-year-old German defender Karim Coulibaly from Werder Bremen. The move follows Strasbourg's recent acquisition of Costa Rican player Jeyland Mitchell.

Coulibaly, a German youth international, joined Werder Bremen from Hamburg SV in 2024. During his tenure in the Bundesliga, he established himself as a regular starter, making 27 appearances and scoring his first league goal against Bayer Leverkusen.

Werder Bremen's football managing director, Clemens Fritz, described Coulibaly as a prime example of the club's strategy to develop young talent. While the club expressed difficulty in losing the player sportingly, they noted the move fulfills their economic responsibility due to the lucrative offer received.
