Racing Club defeats Defensa y Justicia 4-1 to reach Copa Argentina last‑16
Racing Club opened the new stage under manager Juan Pablo Vojvoda with a 4‑1 victory over Defensa y Justicia at the Centenario stadium in Quilmes. Goals came from Matko Miljevic (3'), Marcos Rojo (penalty, 31'), Santiago Sosa (57') and Adrián “Maravilla” Martínez (86'), while Leandro Fernández scored the lone reply for Defensa.
The win guarantees Racing a place in the round of 16 of the Copa Argentina, where they will face Belgrano de Córdoba. Defensa y Justicia were eliminated from the competition.
The match marked Vojvoda's official debut and provided an emphatic start to Racing’s campaign in the national cup.
