Racing Club eliminated from Torneo Clausura playoffs

Racing Club has been mathematically eliminated from the Torneo Clausura playoffs following a 1-0 defeat against River Plate at the Monumental stadium. This loss marks the team's third consecutive defeat and ensures they will finish the season without qualifying for the playoffs, with only two matchdays remaining.

The club's 2026 season has been characterized by multiple setbacks, including an early exit from the Copa Sudamericana, a loss to Boca Juniors in the Copa Argentina, and an inability to win any major derbies this year. The team's performance has led to increased tension between supporters and the club's leadership, specifically targeting Diego Milito.

Racing joins Talleres, Central Córdoba, Aldosivi, and the relegated Estudiantes de Río Cuarto as teams already eliminated from playoff contention.
