River Plate sends Colidio to Vasco da Gama and Castaño to Atlético Mineiro
River Plate is completing the exits of two players deemed surplus by coach Eduardo Coudet. Argentine forward Facundo Colidio has reached an agreement with Brazilian side Vasco da Gama: the club will pay US$4.5 million for 50 % of his rights, with an option to acquire the remaining half for US$5.5 million and a three‑year contract, allowing him to potentially face River in the Copa Sudamericana. Colombian midfielder Kevin Castaño will join Atlético Mineiro on a one‑year loan with an initial fee of US$0.5 million and a purchase option of US$5 million if performance targets are met. Both moves follow River’s recent $67 million spending spree that also secured Thiago Almada. Earlier, River halted Colidio’s sale because of Vasco’s outstanding debt to Newell’s Old Boys, but the transfer has now been revived.
