Racing venues host events to honor first responders and 9/11 victims

Racing venues in the United States held special events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks while honoring military personnel and first responders.

Limerock Speedway in Caledonia, New York, hosted its sixth Military and First Responder Appreciation Night. The event focused on community connection and providing free meals to service members and emergency personnel. Organizers intentionally scheduled the event to coincide with the anniversary to pay respect to those lost on 9/11.

Off Road Speedway held a ‘Heroes Race’ to honor military, police, fire, and rescue workers. The event included a fundraiser for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The racing program featured various divisions, including IMCA Sport Compacts, IMCA Late Models, and Crown Vics, alongside appearances by the Midwest Touring Series 410 Winged Sprint cars.
