Global expansion of pickleball and padel facilities

Various regions are expanding sports infrastructure to meet the rising demand for pickleball and padel.

In Canada, the Village of Telkwa has opened the $410,000 Two Rivers Multi-Outdoor Sports Court, featuring four pickleball courts, two tennis courts, and shared basketball courts. Meanwhile, Penticton City Council approved a three-year temporary-use permit for an indoor pickleball facility at 301 Okanagan Ave. East, which will house four to six courts to serve an estimated 250 players.

In Australia, Racquet Club is expanding its footprint. QIC Real Estate has opened a new venue at Robina Town Centre on the Gold Coast, featuring seven padel courts and six pickleball courts. Additionally, Racquet Club will take over the Talus Street Tennis Centre in Naremburn following an eviction of the previous tenant, with plans to convert two tennis courts into four padel courts.

In the United States, The Picklr Santa Barbara is rebranding as The Grove Pickleball in Goleta. The facility will transition from a membership model to a flexible player pass system to increase accessibility for the local community.
