Irina Mudra, the former deputy chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, has been placed in 60-day detention by the High Anti-Corruption Court in Kyiv. Mudra faces charges of money laundering.

The court set her bail at approximately 447,000 USD (20 million UAH). Mudra has expressed her intention to secure the funds through personal savings and assistance from acquaintances, while her legal team plans to appeal the court's decision.

Mudra was dismissed from her post on August 19 following an anti-corruption operation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). The investigation, referred to as Operation Forest Gump, targets a criminal group allegedly involved in using falsified documents and political influence to seize control of businesses and state assets. Prosecutors have also raised concerns regarding the legalization of large sums of cash through state-controlled banking channels.
