Rada Tilly environmental inspectors eradicate micro-dumps

In Rada Tilly, Argentina, municipal environmental inspectors have successfully eradicated several micro-dumps following the implementation of Ordinance 8264. This regulation prohibits the disposal of waste in public spaces, such as sidewalks and parks, and established the Environmental Inspector Corps. The new framework replaces outdated 1980 regulations to better address modern issues like the illegal dumping of waste from vehicles in unauthorized areas.

Municipal Judge Juan Manuel Oviedo noted that the inspectors' approach is primarily preventive rather than focused on revenue collection. The corps engages with residents to provide guidance on disposing of non-conventional waste, such as branches, appliances, and bulky items. Penalties for violations range from 200 to 10,000 liters of fuel, depending on the severity of the offense.

Additionally, Carolina Barquín, President of the Rada Tilly Deliberative Council, met with the new Judge of Offenses to coordinate institutional efforts. The meeting focused on improving administrative procedures, updating ordinances, and ensuring efficient responses to community demands to support the city's growth and civic coexistence.
