Radacini Wines launches Moldova’s first DOP certified wines

Radacini Wines has launched the first wines in the Republic of Moldova to receive Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) certification. This milestone follows a new system harmonized with European Union legislation.

The debut products include the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc and 2025 Chardonnay from the “Dealul Craveț” DOP microzone, located near the village of Budăi in the Telenești district. The certification process was overseen by the National Office of Vine and Wine.

While Protected Geographical Indication (IGP) status links wine to a broader region, the DOP status signifies a stricter connection to a specific terroir, requiring adherence to precise production specifications and ensuring high traceability. Industry officials noted that this development represents a significant advancement for the Moldovan wine sector, placing these products at the top of the national quality hierarchy.
