Rade Siljan releases new book marking 40 years of literary criticism

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of his first book of essays and criticism, ‘Pronajden oblik’ (1986), literary critic Rade Siljan has released a new work titled ‘Poetski oblici na vremeto’ (Poetic Forms of Time). Published by Matica Makedonska, the book serves as a critical history of Macedonian poetry.

The volume features critical reflections on the works of 30 poets, organized into six literary-historical and poetic sections. Siljan traces the evolution of Macedonian verse from medieval scripts and the Renaissance through the Ilinden period and revolutionary social poetry, to the founders of modern Macedonian poetry and contemporary works of the 21st century.

Featured authors include Konstantin Miladinov, Grigor Prlichev, Koco Racin, Blazhe Koneski, and Aco Shopov, among others. The publication revisits previous arguments while incorporating new insights into the achievements of both historical and active contemporary authors.
