Rumen Radev warns of Black Sea aviation risks and nuclear escalation

Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev has issued several warnings regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its broader implications for European security. Speaking at a defense and space forum in Brussels, Radev highlighted that radio signal jamming and spoofing related to the war are causing daily disruptions to air traffic control over the Black Sea, posing a significant risk to aviation.

Radev also cautioned the European Union against ignoring the risk of nuclear escalation. He argued that the current strategy of providing continuous military aid to Ukraine is insufficient for achieving peace and warned that Europe must prepare for the worst-case scenario involving Russia's nuclear arsenal. He emphasized that a sustainable resolution can only be reached through diplomatic channels and mutual listening rather than through military force alone.

Addressing accusations that his stance is pro-Russian, Radev denied the claims, stating his priority is a realistic approach to end the war of attrition, which he noted is draining both social and economic systems.

Separately, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported that Ukrainian intelligence has identified specific Russian plans to conduct attacks against EU member states. He characterized Russia's subversive activities in Europe as having moved beyond traditional hybrid warfare, aiming to weaken European support for Ukraine.
