Radio Arvyla departs ANT1 following contract end

The satirical television program ‘Radio Arvyla’, led by Antonis Kanakis, has ended its collaboration with ANT1 after nearly thirty years of partnership and three years on the station’s schedule. The group stated that their decision not to renew the contract was based on principles, while ANT1 characterized the departure as a conclusion to a period of mutual respect.

Following the split, negotiations with Mega Channel reportedly failed due to programming conflicts. Integrating the show would have required a structural change to the 20:00 news slot, which the network was unwilling to implement during a pre-election year. Meanwhile, discussions with Open TV remain active, with reports suggesting an open channel of communication between the network and Kanakis’s team.
