Radio broadcaster Márcio Coene dies in Mato Grosso vehicle collision

Radio broadcaster and sports columnist Arodir Márcio Coene, 54, died following a multi-vehicle collision in Mato Grosso. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Serra do Cacho region on the BR-174 highway, near Mirassol d’Oeste.

The crash involved a Scania semi-truck, a Hyundai Creta, and a Honda Biz motorcycle. Emergency responders from the 7th Military Firefighters Nucleus arrived at the scene around 1:36 p.m. and found Coene trapped under the heavy vehicle. Rescuers used hydraulic equipment to extract him from the wreckage.

Coene was transported in critical condition to the Hospital Samuel Greve in Mirassol d’Oeste, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Authorities are investigating the specific dynamics and causes of the collision.
