Radio Mandovi 88.4 FM launches as Goa’s first community radio station

Goa’s first community radio station, Radio Mandovi 88.4 FM, has officially launched in Moira. Founded by Dr. Ashwin Fernandes under the PACT Foundation, the station aims to provide a platform for local voices and expand access to information and education.

The launch coincided with the third Foundation Day of the PACT Foundation. Alongside the radio station, the foundation introduced the ‘Goa Futures Ready’ initiative. This program is designed to assist high school students in identifying career paths through psychometric assessments and career mapping to prepare them for the future of work.

Actor Bhumi Pednekar attended the event, emphasizing the necessity of making quality education accessible to disadvantaged children and encouraging students to explore diverse fields such as science, sports, and the film industry.
