Radio Nova faces backlash over violent remarks targeting French business leaders
Radio Nova is facing intense scrutiny following a broadcast on the program ‘La Riposte’ in which columnist Pierre Metzger made violent remarks and shared personal information regarding prominent French business leaders. During the October 14 segment, Metzger suggested that protesters should target the private residences of individuals he described as the ‘owners of the country,’ specifically naming LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault and Vincent Bolloré.
The broadcast included the disclosure of Arnault’s alleged Parisian home address, with host Akim Omiri reportedly asking the columnist to repeat the information. Metzger also made various violent jokes and threats involving the leaders of Medef and Bpifrance.
In response to the controversy, politician Éric Ciotti has called for urgent action from Arcom, the French media regulator, requesting sanctions that could include the suspension of the station’s broadcasting license. Radio Nova has since distanced itself from the comments and removed the video of the segment from its social media platforms.
