Radio ratings: 2GB loses ground in Sydney while 3AW leads in Melbourne

The latest radio ratings for the Sydney and Melbourne markets show diverging trends for stations owned by Tapt Media. In Sydney, 2GB experienced a decline, with its market share falling 0.5 percentage points to 11.2 per cent. The station now trails SmoothFM, which holds a 13.5 per cent share.

Despite the slump for 2GB, its sister station 3AW continues to lead in Melbourne with a 14.1 per cent share. The 3AW breakfast program, hosted by Russel Howcroft and Ross Stevenson, remains dominant in its time slot with a 19.5 per cent share.

Tapt Media was formed earlier this year after the Laundy family purchased a suite of talkback stations from Nine for $56 million.
